Shiyenze Education Fund

Creating Access · Supporting Education · Investing in Possibility

The Shiyenze Education Fund was born from a deeply personal journey. For our founder, Roselyne Shiyenze, education was something she deeply desired — but pursuing it came with enormous challenges. She understood firsthand what it meant to have the ambition to learn and build a better future while facing the financial barriers that can make education feel out of reach.

That journey became part of the foundation upon which Shiyenze was built.

"A student's desire to learn should not be limited by their ability to pay."

— Roselyne Shiyenze, Founder

Today, as Shiyenze grows, we believe our growth should create opportunities for others. A portion of proceeds from every Shiyenze purchase supports the Shiyenze Education Fund — allowing our customers to become part of that story.

Each year, the Fund awards education grants through trusted organizations in Kenya's Western Region. Our grants help students meet essential educational needs — school fees, learning materials, and other education-related expenses.

Education helped shape our founder's journey. Shiyenze grew from that journey. And now, through the Fund, we are creating a circle of opportunity — investing a portion of what we build back into the education of others. As Shiyenze grows, we hope the Fund will grow with us, reaching more students, supporting more dreams, and opening more doors.

Every purchase becomes part of something bigger.

Upcycled Fabrics Sustainability Craft

A Fresh Horizon

Upcycled Fabrics · Thoughtful Design · New Meaning

At Shiyenze, we believe beautiful materials deserve another chapter.

We incorporate upcycled fabrics and existing textiles into our creative process — transforming them through thoughtful design and craftsmanship into pieces with new meaning, a new look, and a fresh horizon.

"By reimagining materials that already exist, we extend their life while allowing their history and character to become part of something entirely new."

For us, upcycling is both an environmental choice and a creative practice. The result is often distinctive, limited, and one-of-a-kind — shaped not only by our designs, but by the materials themselves.

Old fabric. New meaning. A fresh horizon.

Local Economies

Made Within Our Communities · Brooklyn & Nairobi

Shiyenze believes fashion can create opportunity beyond the finished garment.

Across Brooklyn and Nairobi, we work with local artisans and makers — creating employment and income opportunities while supporting the skills and craftsmanship within the communities where we operate.

"From the hands that make our pieces to the businesses that supply our materials, we believe in building relationships that contribute to stronger local creative economies."

Whenever possible, our products, fabrics, materials, and other production needs are sourced locally — allowing more of what we invest in creating Shiyenze pieces to circulate within local communities.

Made locally. Crafted with purpose. Growing together.
